High Plains Drifter – review

Clint Eastwood plays the drifter of the title – proceeds to literally paint the town red. His moral compass is skewed in some way, Indians are treated as human beings, women are not. The gratuitous mysogyny will sit uncomfortably with modern viewers, particularly when it seems to serve no broader point. Otherwise, this is a western with a surprisingly wacky bent, not a word generally associated with Clint Eastwood the actor, or director for that matter.
