Was entrusting a potentially (note, potentially) complex character study to the guy whose greatest directing achievement was three Hangover movies a good idea? Was turning that character from a criminal mastermind into a thick pervert aping Michael Jackson any better? Does 2 hours of slow-motion hand-waving and preening constitute character development?
